I haven’t seen the movie yet, it doesn’t open until this Friday. As your average audience member, I’m sort of interested in seeing it. As an actor however, I’m weary. A lot of the time, actors, whether they are famous or not, do a project for money. Actors, like any other profession, need to make a living. And, in order to make that living they have to work. Low and behold: “The Paycheck Movie.” Most of the time, the script might be lacking, and there’s nothing the actors can do to save the film from tanking. Again, I haven’t seen the movie yet, so I can’t critique it, but when they cram a lot of “name actors” in one movie, I get suspicious. The Big Wedding movie poster even reminds me of another Amanda Seyfried film:
Apparently, Amanda Seyfried does the whole “Bride” thing really well. Of course, you’ll need someone to perform the marriage. Robin Williams has done the whole “Minister/Priest/Reverend” thing really well:
What I find funny, is that Robert DeNiro and Diane Keaton both of whom starred together in the legendary Godfather: Part II and Marvin’s Room, team up again for a romantic comedy. It seems like the kind of movie where everyone knows everyone and has worked with one another before in some way. Paychecks aside, it seems like fun. And in my opinion, both weddings and movies should be just that. Fun. So if they had a good time making it, and are able to make a living doing what they love, that’s all that should matter.
